PLASMA is not the Core.
It's what the Core allows to surface.

PLASMA is a first-generation hybrid compression engine combining three levels of optimization:

Adaptive differential compression analyzes a file's entropy up front and selects the optimal coding scheme per data segment, reaching compression ratios static codecs can't match.

Congestion-control BBR with TCP Fast Open minimizes connection-setup delay between storage nodes and clears artificial "traffic jams" in the channel carrying compressed blocks.

Each node dynamically selects input and output distribution points for data fragments, building an optimal topology from load, geography, and channel conditions — balancing load across data centers and staying resilient to local failures.

Foundation. Always active. Invisible by design.
